Here is your chance to own a significant piece of Australian History. We have the complete eleven piece dining suite from one of the first outback stations. Founded and built by William and Charles MacDonald in 1886 Fossil Downs with over a million acres is one of Australias largest and oldest privately owned cattle stations. Built near the junction of the Victoria and Margaret Rivers in the heart of the Kimberleys.

People collect anything and everything but the the most memorable pieces of ones collections is always the piece with a story behind it. It could just be where they were or who they were with when they bought it or it could be what all collectors pride ‘the story behind the piece, the history, who owned it, where was it from”

This dining suite took pride of place in the dining room of the Fossil Downs homestead where it offered meals and lodgings to many a weary traveller and the hospitality of the MacDonald’s was well renown.

Fine inlaid detail adjourns the suite. Solid jarrah with beautiful curved doors on the sideboard and a massive table with 4 inserts. 8 chairs in total with 2 carvers that have exquisite matchstick fine inlay. The large planks of jarrah used in the table to extend or decrease it size via a crank system are a beautiful rich red and the whole suite is in lovely condition.

To own such an important piece of history is not only a great talking point but a smart investment. Australiana furniture is highly desirable but with the added historic aspect makes this suite truly unique. Early inlaid jarrah furniture especially to this high standard is not commonplace and this large complete set would be an asset to any jarrah furniture collector.

Colored laminex, chrome, vinyl and more chrome. Black glass and art deco styling 50′s furniture is a great fun way to add some pizazz into your life.

With the great variety of styles during the fifties you can mix and match new with old and original pieces are still quite readily available. Bargains can be found with some of these beauties relatively cheap and can often be freshen up with new paint job. Colour was awash throughout your 50′s home with quirky prints and great finishes.
